Certified Clinical Medical Assistant This is an in-person position working in our main clinic in Chandler, AZ. This position will also provide coverage on an as needed basis in our Maricopa, AZ (Pinal County) location and requires CCMA certification from the National Healthcareer Association. We are looking for 2 (two) full-time, friendly, dependable, and tenured Certified Clinical Medical Assistants to join our Primary Care/Internal Medicine/Multispecialty practice who can multi-task in a fast-paced environment Monday through Friday. Since there are many variations to the job duties, the ideal candidate will have completed and graduated from a medical assisting course, be flexible, and willing to assist in multiple clinic functions without getting flustered under stressful situations. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are a must. Duties/Responsibilities: Back-office duties include: Rooming patients and taking vitals. Patient record management utilizing the eClinicalWorks (eCW) EMR system. Answering telephone calls related to clinical questions and relaying messages to the Provider. Calling patients with test results and processing prescription refill requests, as directed by the Provider. Providing patient instructions, screening (UA) and other clinical tests. Ordering lab work and imaging at the Provider's discretion. Completing prior authorizations and generating specialist referrals. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills: Front office duties include: Greets and registers patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner. Verifies patient’s insurance and collects patient co-pays and unmet deductibles. Answers telephone, screen calls, takes messages, and provides information. Schedules appointments as requested. Maintains and updates current information on the Provider's schedule ensuring that patients are scheduled properly. Answers questions regarding patient appointments and blood draw schedule. Process faxes by creating telephone encounters and sending these to the appropriate recipients. Responds to patient text messages. Generates specialist referrals, as needed. Oversees the waiting area, coordinates patient movement, reports problems or irregularities. Keeps lobby and front desk area clean and tidy per COVID-19 protocols. Education/ Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of and graduation from a medical assisting course required. Certification from the National Healthcareer Association required. Basic computer skills including previous work with an electronic health record (EHR). Strong customer service focus. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Teamwork oriented. Organized and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Good judgment. Resourcefulness in problem solving. Duties/Responsibilities: Our Nurse Practitioners plan, direct, and evaluate patient and employee healthcare in an ambulatory setting; examine and treat chronic and acute episodic illnesses, minor injuries, accidents, and other injuries/illnesses; performs selected laboratory testing; offers referrals to outside physicians and facilities, writes prescriptions, and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment. Our Nurse Practitioners also work with the medical director in the care and treatment of patients and staff. Meets new and existing ambulatory patients in the clinic for examination, diagnosis, and development of patient care plans based on the patient’s medical history. Administering diagnostic tests. Refers to outside physicians and facilities as needed. Writes prescriptions and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment. Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required to perform your work. Proficient in charting and completing tasks in an EMR system. eClinicalWorks experience a plus.
